In the 35th minute Desiderio Borges shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. CD.AUKINKO's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Rogerio Villamil in the 39th minute. It was a well-played corner which Valdemar Polden managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. With a little luck, CD.AUKINKO's Cristóbal Campos got control of the ball when Edmundo Espiga tried to sneak it across the goal line.

Honduras's supporters rose to their feet, but Edmundo Espiga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cristóbal Campos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. CD.AUKINKO walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
