Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Daniel Zorita started the match with the kick off. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Damián Martínez having to interfere. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Damián Martínez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 7th minute of play. 14 minutes into the match, Oberá's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Damián Martínez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Oberá was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Domingos Tristan didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 19 minutes, Felix Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felix Montenegro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Damián Martínez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 31st minute, Domingos Tristan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 34th minute, Luis Andino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 36 minutes, Niculae Udroiu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Oberá and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 36 played minutes Oberá got a freekick which was hit by Niculae Udroiu. Oberá's Damián Martínez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 37th minute of play. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Oberá's goalkeeper Damián Martínez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alberto Cresencio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Victorio Rami's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Victorio Rami helped the player get up and apologised. Victorio Rami kicked well hit freekick during the 50th minute of the match. Damián Martínez made a fantastic save in the 51st minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. Damián Martínez was out of position in the 51 minute of play, and Daniel Zorita capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Daniel Zorita really showed his touch with that goal: 0-1. Daniel Zorita might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Damián Martínez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniel Zorita ran back to his position shaking his head. Damián Martínez made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. 59 minutes into the match, Antonio Arias dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Damián Martínez, 0-2. A collision led to Oberá getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Domingos Tristan hit a great ball. In the 70th minute, Daniel Zorita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. If Agustín Saelices had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
