Gust Swiggers's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 48th minute, Arno Van Hamme hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Gust Swiggers made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Xhoris's Tuure Jamieson got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Richard Billberg made a huge save. 54 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Samuel Roosendael came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Despite being the better team, Ecuador failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
