After the first half Fotbal Club Otelul Galati were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Fotbal Club Otelul Galati's Iustin Anghelescu was substituted for Gelu Alexandrescu. 85 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goal looked a bit too open when Cezar Cucu came free, but Joaquin Gayoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fotbal Club Otelul Galati played a much better game than Uruguay and deserved their victory. The Uruguay players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
