The tension between the UD Linares and the Mexico players grew even worse after the yellow card. Firmin Lombard kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Sergi Urquijo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 25th minute. Alberto Tafalla recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sergi Urquijo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lautaro Mancebo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Sergi Urquijo made a huge save. Mexico were awarded a corner in the 41th minute after UD Linares's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joel Gaona took the corner. Fabricio Diaz thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Sergi Urquijo, a very annoying self made goal in the 42nd minute which led to 1-0. Joel Gaona could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Sergi Urquijo made a huge save. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Jon Moreira made the kick off in the second half. When Mexico's Joel Gaona in the 51st minute got a chance for a shot 51st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye UD Linares's goalie prevented a goal. UD Linares's Sergi Urquijo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 52nd minute of play. The corner ended in Joel Gaona almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but UD Linares's Sergi Urquijo did a great save. Sergi Urquijo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 55th minute of the match. Sergi Urquijo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 60th minute of play. When Lautaro Mancebo came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lautaro Mancebo couldn't finish the play. 70 minutes into the match, UD Linares's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Sergi Urquijo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 75th minute, Joel Gaona made a precise shot to the right of Sergi Urquijo. UD Linares's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. 80 minutes into the match, UD Linares's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Sergi Urquijo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 82nd minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sergi Urquijo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Luca Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Sergi Urquijo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lautaro Mancebo went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. When Manel Caballero fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored UD Linares's protests and gave Manel Caballero a yellow card for diving instead. In the 92nd minute, Manel Caballero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 94th minute Lautaro Mancebo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sergi Urquijo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joel Gaona scored 5-0 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sergi Urquijo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. UD Linares's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
