Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armando Larrieta in the 37th minute of the match. 41 minutes into the match, Enzo Gallardo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Enzo Gallardo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-2. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 5-2.

The wind increased when Dong Zhou Chen made the kick off in the second half. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mauricio Precioso having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Venezuela's Mauricio Precioso threw himself towards the right post 57 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Patricio Costa, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When Club Puerto Quito's Dong Zhou Chen in the 58th minute got a chance for a shot 58th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 68th minute, Jonathan Venegas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Diego Narbona was slow to take the kick. During this time Club Puerto Quito's players had a chance to rest. Club Puerto Quito's Diego Narbona was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jonathan Ferrant in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rufino Giron, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. After 88 minutes of play, Club Puerto Quito's Dong Zhou Chen made it 6-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dong Zhou Chen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dong Zhou Chen in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Club Puerto Quito's Urki Espino was substituted for Ayoví Costoya. When the referee ended the match the Club Puerto Quito players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
