Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Julian Efraim kicked off to start the match. 7 minutes into the match, Cardiff City FC's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Xencio Millan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Baltasar Bertin hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 14th minute of play forced Cardiff City FC's goalkeeper Xencio Millan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 16 minutes into the match, Cardiff City FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Xencio Millan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Xencio Millan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. In the 20th minute, Felix Montes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Julian Efraim sent off a good shot on target. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Julian Efraim went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Efraim in the 30th minute of play. After 30 minutes of play, Cardiff City FC's Julian Efraim made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Julian Efraim in the 34th minute. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Cardiff City FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Baltasar Bertin didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cardiff City FC's goalkeeper Xencio Millan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Luis Andino got a free kick in the 47th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 52 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Efraim in the 54th minute of play. Daniel Zorita came free with the goalkeeper in the 55th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Xencio Millan could save by the left post. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Juan Sebastián Puig lost his temper 65 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Julio Vera had in the 66thth minute some difficulties stopping Julian Efraim's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cardiff City FC made a substitution. Celso Walme replaced Julian Efraim. After 72 played minutes Cardiff City FC got a freekick which was hit by Everardo Joey. With a little luck, Cardiff City FC's Xencio Millan got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Xencio Millan was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Cristian Sancho showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 75 minute of play. 83 minutes into the match, Cardiff City FC's goalkeeper Xencio Millan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. In the 86th minute, Nunez Larra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celso Walme, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee blew the final whistle, Cardiff City FC could leave the field as winners, despite Ecuador having more of the ball for most of the match.
