The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Peru booed when Trento Calcio 1921 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arturo Avesani didn't get a good kick on the ball. Milagros Fraga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Frank Galli took the ball and in the 18 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rolando Noboa. Rolando Noboa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Peru's attentive Eliseo Mina managed to snatch the ball when Arturo Avesani made a throw-in in the 20th minute of the game. In the 22nd match minute, Trento Calcio 1921 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ralf Aasma to maneuver through the defense. Trento Calcio 1921's Mutlu Baykam played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luz Tejedor in the 23rd minute of play. 25 minutes into the game, Peru's Julian Murillo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mutlu Baykam made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Frank Galli made a kick off. With a little luck, Trento Calcio 1921's Mutlu Baykam got control of the ball when Julian Murillo tried to sneak it across the goal line. 56 minutes into the match, Julian Murillo dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Mutlu Baykam, 1-2. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mutlu Baykam read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. Alonso Berganza kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. After 63 played minutes Trento Calcio 1921 got a freekick which was hit by Ralf Aasma. The throw-in from Arturo Avesani in the 69th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Peru's Alonso Berganza. After 71 minutes Peru's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Fortunato Gatti who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Trento Calcio 1921's corner Fortunato Gatti fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Rolando Noboa quite easily take care of the ball. 80 minutes into the match, Trento Calcio 1921's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Mutlu Baykam reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 95th minute Rafael Gallo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mutlu Baykam saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 96 played minutes Peru got a freekick which was hit by Joaquin Prats. Peru's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
