With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Paulo Pierres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo Pierres, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomas Illescas to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Paulo Pierres's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Alex Chicote a yellow card for diving instead. After 84 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Alex Chicote. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Alex Chicote got a free kick in the 85th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Eustaquio Martxelin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Guanacos's supporters rose to their feet, but Eustaquio Martxelin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match had gone on for 87 minutes, Eustaquio Martxelin put it in 3-1 from a short distance just to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Remigio Ler in the 89th minute of play.
