Moises Fernandino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dacian Iurea having to interfere. The FC Berea fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. The El Salvador players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. FC Berea were winning 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Moises Fernandino made a kick off. 54 minutes into the game, Abram Luque was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. El Salvador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Berea the free kick. A collision led to El Salvador getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Abram Luque hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodion Cămătaru in the 61st minute of play forced El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 65 minutes into the match, FC Berea's goal looked a bit too open when Moises Fernandino came free, but Dacian Iurea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of FC Berea booed when El Salvador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marco Tamayo didn't get a good kick on the ball. El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save El Salvador from getting a goal against them. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ricardo Zorita showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. A sloppy throw-in by Adrian Hâldan in the 95th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by El Salvador's Valentino Ferrant. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. FC Berea had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
