Navarro Montoya stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Abram Sarmiento's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. 36 minutes into the match, Abram Sarmiento had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Navarro Montoya. Jastreb's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Abram Sarmiento was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Pedro Manzanares didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bo Cantona went, in the 47th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

With a little luck, Colombia's Pedro Manzanares got control of the ball when Bo Cantona tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 57th minute, Jastreb's Bo Cantona ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Pedro Manzanares. Pedro Manzanares yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-4. Navarro Montoya took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pascual Carballar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Abram Sarmiento scored 3-4 in the 60th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Navarro Montoya, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A hard shot 63 in the game by Bo Cantona from a close distance when the talented Pedro Manzanares managed to make a qualified save. Colombia's players were relieved. Miran Tudor might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pedro Manzanares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jastreb's supporters crossed their fingers, but Börje Forsberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 84th match minute, Jastreb was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Imants Blasāns to maneuver through the defense. In the 86th minute of the match, Luka Mata tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Pedro Manzanares saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 87 minutes into the match, Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Börje Forsberg.
