The Peru fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rolando Noboa should have stopped the shot. Jimeno Nevada didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Julian Murillo went, in the 10th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Gavino Rami had several of the Peru's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 15 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-1 score and a disappointed Rolando Noboa as he didn't even see the shot coming. A collision led to Club Atlético Magallanes getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Ruperto Salvadore hit a great ball. 18 minutes into the match, Luz Tejedor had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jimeno Nevada. Club Atlético Magallanes's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luz Tejedor was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Jan Sierocki's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rolando Noboa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. 40 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Gavino Rami came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Peru's attentive Eliseo Mina managed to snatch the ball when Ma Peng Yuan made a throw-in in the 87th minute of the game. Jimeno Nevada showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafael Gallo, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute.
