Gigel Ghișerel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. 20 minutes into the game, Vlashers's Marius Levința nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benito Sanz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Eliseo Noboa might have been able to make a better finish in the 24th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pauli Palander. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eliseo Noboa ran back to his position shaking his head. After 26 minutes, Juan Rubio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costa Rica and the Vlashers players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 26 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Juan Rubio. Marius Levința took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. 33 minutes into the game, Vlashers's Marius Levința nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. In the 43rd minute, Dorel Petcu made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. The Costa Rica players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Vlashers were winning 0-5.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Axel Tasis to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Vlashers's Dinu Moșanu got a free kick in the 51st minute. In the 54th minute, Aaron Alcocer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. In the 57th minute, Nechifor Cosor had to leave the field with a concussion. When Efrain Moruga fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Efrain Moruga a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Vlashers booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Efrain Moruga didn't get a good kick on the ball. The corner led Vlashers's Gigel Ghișerel to fire away a dangerous shot which Benito Sanz despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The supporters of Vlashers booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alan Moruga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gigel Ghișerel took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 63rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Benito Sanz. Vlashers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Costa Rica the free kick. Vlashers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gigel Ghișerel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Vlashers's Marius Levința in the 75th minute got a chance for a shot 75th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Costa Rica's goalie prevented a goal. When the match had gone on for 82 minutes, Dorel Petcu took a quick shot and it went in 0-7 without a chance for Benito Sanz to make any attempt to save it. The supporters of Vlashers booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Axel Tasis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benito Sanz was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Marius Levința showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-8 in the 87 minute of play. In the 90thth minute of the game Marius Levința who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Costa Rica's Benito Sanz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 94 minutes into the game, Marius Levința lined in a short shot 0-9 behind a frustrated Benito Sanz.
