Vicente Dalmai recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 16th minute of play forced Gomosao F.C.'s goalkeeper Petre Stolniceanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 66th minute, Anselmo Umea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Gomosao F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fermin Bieito didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Gomosao F.C.'s zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Petre Stolniceanu came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Anselmo Umea charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Anselmo Umea the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Anselmo Umea hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. In the 75th minute, Patricio Costa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 81 minutes into the game, Venezuela's Patricio Costa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Petre Stolniceanu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. 92 minutes into the game, Jesus Baristo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. Jesus Baristo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-3. The Venezuela fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Gomosao F.C. were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
