Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Carlos Teves started the match with the kick off. When Carlos Teves came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the La Guardia Imperial fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlos Teves couldn't finish the play. Atilano Esiquio came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Antonio Arias was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 11 minutes into the match. After 10 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ecuador! In the 17th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Atilano Esiquio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Carlos Teves tried to sneak it across the goal line. 28 minutes into the game, Juan Sebastián Puig cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Atilano Esiquio was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 33 minutes into the game, Carlos Teves cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 39th minute, La Guardia Imperial's Carlos Teves dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-2. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Atilano Esiquio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cristian Sancho was the one to do the kick off. Felix Montenegro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Guillermo Dolcet hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. In the 68th minute of the game Camilo Gisbert made a throw-in which Luis Andino played forward. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aristides Austin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 77 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 80th minute, Carlos Teves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Aristides Austin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. In the 93rd match minute, La Guardia Imperial was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Teves to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to La Guardia Imperial getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Guillermo Dolcet hit a great ball. When the referee blew the final whistle, La Guardia Imperial could leave the field as winners, despite Ecuador having more of the ball for most of the match.
