Peru's Julian Murillo got a good chance for a goal in the 2nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Angel-Enrique Comizzo didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 13th minute, which inside left pole to 1-1. In the 16th minute of the match, Milagros Fraga got a very nice opportunity to score, but Angel-Enrique Comizzo was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The corner led to Peru's Eliseo Mina getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. 21 minutes into the match, Blue Angels's goalkeeper Angel-Enrique Comizzo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Julian Murillo. Blue Angels's Alf Björk suffered a concussion in the 23rd minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. After 23 minutes, Emmanuel Reyes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Peru and the Blue Angels players grew even worse after the yellow card. Aleksandar Ivanov's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rolando Noboa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. If Eliseo Mina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 31 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Marcus Berg came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patrik Skark in the 33rd minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patrik Skark, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. When the match clock showed 41 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Marcus Berg sped through Peru's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Rolando Noboa. In the 46th minute of the match Milagros Fraga sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Angel-Enrique Comizzo skillfully saved the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Julian Murillo to make the kick off. Rolando Noboa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Patrik Skark in the 57th minute. After a rather tough play, Blue Angels's Thomas Rogne got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcus Berg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julian Murillo scored 2-2 in the 68th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Angel-Enrique Comizzo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Angel-Enrique Comizzo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Milagros Fraga, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcus Berg got free with Rolando Noboa in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Julian Murillo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Angel-Enrique Comizzo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Peru made a substitution. Antonio Tenorio replaced Luz Tejedor. Blue Angels made a substitution. Robin Söder replaced Oscar Lindström. Peru made a substitution. Rafael Gallo replaced Julian Murillo. In the 91st minute Antonio Tenorio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Angel-Enrique Comizzo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Angel-Enrique Comizzo came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Peru's Rafael Gallo. But to his dismay, Rafael Gallo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-2. Angel-Enrique Comizzo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rafael Gallo's shot from short distance in the 97th minute. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Peru fully deserved thier win.
