In the 12th minute Agustín Saelices shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robustiano Gelmiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Robustiano Gelmiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Håkan Skager in the 15th minute of the match. Sotelo AFC's Siro Benvido pulled a muscle in his back after 19 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Sotelo AFC's Cui Liang Yue was substituted for Siro Benvido. Cristian Sancho took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Robustiano Gelmiro. Robustiano Gelmiro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 28th minute, Cristian Sancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Robustiano Gelmiro was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. In the 32nd minute, Ecuador's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Håkan Skager fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 35th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robustiano Gelmiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 37thth minute of the game Daniel Zorita who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sotelo AFC's Robustiano Gelmiro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With his leg Julio Vera managed to avoid a goal in the 40thth minute, when Sotelo AFC's Cui Liang Yue fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When Håkan Skager came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Sotelo AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Håkan Skager couldn't finish the play. After 43 played minutes Sotelo AFC got a freekick which was hit by Jimeno Hurko. Robustiano Gelmiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 45th minute of the match. Cui Liang Yue's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 47thth minute, Julio Vera skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cui Liang Yue was the one to do the kick off. Håkan Skager received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cui Liang Yue in the 53rd minute of play. The supporters of Sotelo AFC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Arias didn't get a good kick on the ball. Håkan Skager sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cui Liang Yue in the 60th minute of play. After 64 minutes, Cui Liang Yue made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Ecuador's Julio Vera tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 77 minutes into the match, Cui Liang Yue notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 82 minutes into the match, Sotelo AFC's Cui Liang Yue sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cui Liang Yue, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cui Liang Yue in the 89th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Robustiano Gelmiro made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Agustín Saelices sent off a good shot on target. Ecuador were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
