The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the game, Stanley Wallace recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Thor Haström. Stanley Wallace showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. In the 8th minute André Smed shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruno Barrett saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bruno Barrett made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from André Smed in the 11th minute of play. 13 minutes into the game, André Smed cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Bruno Barrett was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ingvar Wiklund received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Bruno Barrett tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bruno Barrett came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by Gotham City's Gustav Apelquist. But to his dismay, Gustav Apelquist quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers André Smed in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bruno Barrett saved Curacao from getting behind. When André Smed came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Gotham City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that André Smed couldn't finish the play. If Stanley Wallace had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Stanley Wallace got free with Thor Haström in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 31 minutes into the game, Marshall Graham was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Curacao's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gotham City the free kick. In the 31st minute, Marshall Graham hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Ingvar Wiklund fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gotham City's protests and gave Ingvar Wiklund a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Curacao booed when Gotham City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ingvar Wiklund didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ingvar Wiklund fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Barrett having to interfere. Kyle Davies fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thor Haström having to interfere. In the 43rd match minute, Curacao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rocco Owen to maneuver through the defense. If Kyle Davies had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Curacao players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Gotham City were winning 1-2.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ingvar Wiklund stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ingvar Wiklund fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Barrett having to interfere. A collision led to Curacao getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Troy Kennedy hit a great ball. In the 59th minute of the match Claes Abrahamsson shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bruno Barrett showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Bruno Barrett showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ingvar Wiklund, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. 69 minutes into the match, André Smed dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Bruno Barrett, 1-4. If Gustav Apelquist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sören Stenquist charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sören Stenquist the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Curacao's Peter Black was substituted for Kyle Davies. In the 78th minute, Sören Stenquist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 79th minute, Lochlan Newman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. André Smed struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Bruno Barrett didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gotham City. Bruno Barrett made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when André Smed sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Curacao's Rocco Owen got a free kick in the 84th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Curacao's zone, André Smed stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bruno Barrett came out of the goal and André Smed tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bruno Barrett showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ingvar Wiklund, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Claes Albäck during the 90th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Curacao booed when Gotham City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claes Albäck didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Stanley Wallace came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Curacao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stanley Wallace couldn't finish the play. 93 minutes into the game, Gustav Apelquist was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gotham City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Curacao the free kick. After 93 played minutes Gotham City got a freekick which was hit by Gustav Apelquist. When the final whistle sounded Gotham City left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Curacao.
