The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 8 minutes, Albino Argider made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. In the 15th minute Faustino Gaztea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Hernan Eleazar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. Jimeno Florian hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. 25 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Faustino Gaztea came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Armando Ubarna stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. When Jimeno Florian fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Despidida AFC's protests and gave Jimeno Florian a yellow card for diving instead. In the 42nd match minute, Despidida AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jimeno Florian to maneuver through the defense. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomas Illescas was the one to do the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomas Illescas got free with Hernan Eleazar in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
