Radu Domide showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 13th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Ciprian Eniceicu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Milan Futuro's supporters rose to their feet, but Ciprian Eniceicu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 18 played minutes Milan Futuro got a freekick which was hit by Szabolcs Temesvári. In the 19th minute, Ciprian Eniceicu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 40th minute of play forced Milan Futuro's goalkeeper Radu Domide to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 43 played minutes Milan Futuro got a freekick which was hit by Octav Apostu. 46 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Ciprian Eniceicu came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 47 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Szabolcs Temesvári who took care of the corner kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Ecuador's goalie and right to Aristide Boltașu. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Ecuador's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. Cristian Sanchos short, quick shot in the 53rdth minute got Radu Domide to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in.
