But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. 25 minutes into the game, Nikos Labakis recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. Nikos Labakis showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. The audience was convinced that Tomas Illescas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Celalettin Eraltay was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. In the 29th minute of the match Venezuela got a corner. Kipouroi FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tomas Illescas ran over to the corner to take the kick. After 29 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jose Correa. 32 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Jonatan Toli came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Jonatan Toli kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jonathan Ferrant. That made the score 3-0 in the 33 minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexis Sifakis, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Jonatan Toli took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Jonathan Ferrant was a little too slow when Jonatan Toli got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 44th minute. The score was now 5-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jonatan Toli to make the kick off. After 55 minutes Kipouroi FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Tomas Illescas who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Venezuela's corner Joshua Secada fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Celalettin Eraltay quite easily take care of the ball. Patricio Costa's late challenge caught a Kipouroi FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Patricio Costa helped the player get up and apologised. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thrasivoulos Polimenakos in the 68th minute of play. 72 minutes into the match, Jonatan Toli notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 78 minutes into the match, Alexis Sifakis notched a goal, 8-0, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant.
