Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 14 minutes into the match, Mariano Lacasa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Carlos Baptista. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mariano Lacasa made a kick off. Mariano Lacasa in the 53rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Carlos Baptista, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Mariano Lacasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Carlos Baptista read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Chile's Carlos Baptista threw himself towards the right post 76 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Xavier Figueroa, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 77 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Ali Numan Afak came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carlos Baptista came out of the goal and Mariano Lacasa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Orlando Casaus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Baptista having to interfere. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ersen Bumba in the 90th minute of play. Carlos Baptista came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Chile's Mariano Lacasa. But to his dismay, Mariano Lacasa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3.
