After some careless play in the Project X defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Simon Bergsten. The Project X fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Simon Bergsten should have stopped the shot. Simon Bergsten showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 38th minute of the match. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 47 minutes, Kristoffer Tingelholm mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Project X and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. Kristoffer Tingelholm hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Project X made a substitution. Ingvar Malmberg replaced Edgar Termander. After 48 played minutes Project X got a freekick which was hit by Kristoffer Tingelholm.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jerzy Piechna stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Felix Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Simon Bergsten tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee showed Ingvar Malmberg the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Project X's Ingvar Malmberg got a free kick in the 71st minute. In the 74th minute, Luis Andino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Agustín Saelices managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Agustín Saelices was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Simon Bergsten breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Project X's Simon Bergsten proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Project X from getting a goal against them. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 82 minutes into the match, Luis Andino notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Project X's Simon Bergsten. Simon Bergsten was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Project X getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Kristoffer Tingelholm hit a great ball. Simon Bergsten acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 85th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Daniel Zorita. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 95 played minutes Project X got a freekick which was hit by Ingmar Törnblom. 97 minutes into the match, Project X's goalkeeper Simon Bergsten had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
