Julio Vera was out of position in the 2 minute of play, and Sandrinho Hoffmann capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Sandrinho Hoffmann really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Benjamim Dante didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sandrinho Hoffmann, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Estrela Solitária were awarded a corner in the 14th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Chicão Amorim took the corner. Estrela Solitária's Chicão Amorim was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Julio Vera in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Guilherme Peixoto charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Guilherme Peixoto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Guilherme Peixoto kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Benjamim Dante tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Agustín Saelices might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benjamim Dante. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Agustín Saelices ran back to his position shaking his head. 28 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Benjamim Dante narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 30th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benjamim Dante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benjamim Dante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Montes in the 32nd minute of play. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 36 minutes into the match, Estrela Solitária's goal looked a bit too open when Agustín Saelices came free, but Benjamim Dante reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 38th minute, Daniel Zorita made a precise shot to the right of Benjamim Dante. Estrela Solitária's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. In the 40th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benjamim Dante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Daniel Zorita kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dudu Meira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Estrela Solitária's Gerd Müller was substituted for Sandrinho Hoffmann. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dudu Meira in the 70th minute of the match. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benjamim Dante having to interfere. 79 minutes into the match, Estrela Solitária's goalkeeper Benjamim Dante had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Felix Montenegro. 80 minutes had been played when some careless play by Estrela Solitária's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Estrela Solitária's Benjamim Dante proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Estrela Solitária from getting a goal against them. In the 85th minute, Estrela Solitária's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After 88 minutes of play Estrela Solitária's Guilherme Peixoto was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 89th minute, Guilherme Peixoto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 91 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Gerd Müller came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Benjamim Dante made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 93rd minute. In the 95th minute, Zé Roberto Hermes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 96th match minute Daniel Zorita ran free in the middle of the field and shot a long shot which scored behind a totally surprised Benjamim Dante. 1-3. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
