CE LAJEADENSE RS's Adilson Montenegro quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonathan Alphonse in the 10th minute of play forced CE LAJEADENSE RS's goalkeeper Waldir da Mata to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 15th minute Váldson Berger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Noel Seide saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 17th minute Jonathan Alphonse shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Waldir da Mata saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathan Alphonse received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Waldir da Mata tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ernso Constant's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Waldir da Mata read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. Waldir da Mata took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jonathan Alphonse, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jonathan Alphonses short, quick shot in the 29thth minute got Waldir da Mata to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Jonathan Alphonse in the 32nd play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Waldir da Mata kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 1-0 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. Felix Dorval made in the 35th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by CE LAJEADENSE RS's Adilson Montenegro. After a defensive mix-up in CE LAJEADENSE RS's zone, Jonathan Alphonse stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Waldir da Mata came out of the goal and Jonathan Alphonse tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Raimundo Gonçalves took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Noel Seide. Noel Seide dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Umberto Paiva got a throw-in 44 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Mário Leme. Noel Seide showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Váldson Berger in the 45th minute of the match. 45 minutes into the match, Váldson Berger had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Noel Seide. Haiti's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Váldson Berger was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. After the first half CE LAJEADENSE RS were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jonathan Alphonse to make the kick off. CE LAJEADENSE RS's Waldir da Mata played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernso Constant in the 53rd minute of play. A throw-in in the 58th minute of the game was made by Oséas Miranda with Mário Leme as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. CE LAJEADENSE RS's Guilherme Loureiro managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Raymond Louis in the 59 minute of the game. Umberto Paiva hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Waldir da Mata showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonathan Alphonse in the 88th minute of the match. Waldir da Mata showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonathan Alphonse, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. In the 94th minute, Jean Claude Ulysse hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 97 minutes into the match, CE LAJEADENSE RS's goal looked a bit too open when Jonathan Alphonse came free, but Waldir da Mata reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Haiti manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing CE LAJEADENSE RS to win.
