The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Nanang Wardhana managed to avoid a goal in the 20thth minute, when Venezuela's Tomas Illescas fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Nanang Wardhana came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Greencard's Tora Suarlan in the 30th minute got a chance for a shot 30th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Venezuela's goalie prevented a goal. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ilham Mahuse in the 32nd minute of play. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nanang Wardhana having to interfere. Nanang Wardhana made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Tomas Illescas sent off a good shot on target. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomas Illescas was the one to do the kick off. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Greencard made a substitution. Noah-Leon Hutagalung replaced Mamat Wirayudha. Karl Kornilov made in the 59th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Ilham Mahuse. The audience was convinced that Immanuel Mandias's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. In the 89th minute, one of Venezuela:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Venezuela. When the match had been going on for 90 minutes, Greencard's Karl Kornilov got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tora Suarlan in the 94th minute of play. Greencard were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
