Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Váldson Berger to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, CE LAJEADENSE RS's goal looked a bit too open when Maximiliano Escribano came free, but Waldir da Mata reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Maximiliano Escribano scored 4-0 in the 53rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Waldir da Mata, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 56th minute Francisco Seco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Waldir da Mata saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Waldir da Mata showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maximiliano Escribano in the 57th minute of the match. A beautiful save bye CE LAJEADENSE RS's goalie prevented a goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cléber de Souza during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Waldir da Mata was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
