Ciro Lira yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. 55 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Remco Dekker came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mariano Lacasa got free with Ciro Lira in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Decathlon Anderlecht's Ciro Lira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francisco Carballar in the 66th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mattijs Klaes in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. Giles Winnepenninck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Chile's Gerardo Pozo got a free kick in the 95th minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Chile walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
