PEÇONHENTO FC MG's Laércio Trigo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 14th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bertrand Hatun in the 16th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. PEÇONHENTO FC MG's Laércio Trigo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 24th minute of play. Laércio Trigo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 28th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bertrand Hatun got free with Julio Vera in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. PEÇONHENTO FC MG's Laércio Trigo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 33rd minute of play. Laércio Trigo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bertrand Hatun in the 36th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bertrand Hatun in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. In the 39th minute of the match, Evert Tillman tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Julio Vera saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mao Yun Kun during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to PEÇONHENTO FC MG getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Mao Yun Kun hit a great ball. 43 minutes into the match, Bertrand Hatun notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

PEÇONHENTO FC MG's Laércio Trigo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save PEÇONHENTO FC MG from getting a goal against them. Bertrand Hatun recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Felix Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpected shot in the 63rd minute by Daniel Zorita got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Laércio Trigo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gabriel Delassus, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 69th minute of play forced PEÇONHENTO FC MG's goalkeeper Laércio Trigo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. PEÇONHENTO FC MG's Tony de Lima was substituted for Hélio Andrade.
