The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Evert Tillman in the 6th minute of the match. Tomas Illescas's late challenge caught a PEÇONHENTO FC MG's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tomas Illescas helped the player get up and apologised. In the 6th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomas Illescas to maneuver through the defense. In the 23rd minute of the match, Gabriel Delassus tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jonathan Ferrant saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Jonathan Venegas hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Bertrand Hatun managed to get in a good position for a shot. PEÇONHENTO FC MG's supporters rose to their feet, but Bertrand Hatun was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 30th minute of the match PEÇONHENTO FC MG got a corner. Venezuela's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Nelsinho Faria ran over to the corner to take the kick. PEÇONHENTO FC MG's Nelsinho Faria was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jonathan Ferrant in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Gabriel Delassus took the ball and in the 31 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Evert Tillman in the 36th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 38 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Rigoberto Mina. Nelsinho Faria shot from long distance in the 39th minute, but Jonathan Ferrant was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bertrand Hatun, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. In the 44th minute Gabriel Delassus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 46th minute, Mao Yun Kun hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomas Illescas made a kick off. When PEÇONHENTO FC MG's Bertrand Hatun in the 51st minute got a chance for a shot 51st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gabriel Delassus in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 70th minute, Gabriel Delassus ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. The supporters of Venezuela booed when PEÇONHENTO FC MG was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thomás Meder didn't get a good kick on the ball. Patricio Costa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Laércio Trigo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. After 80 played minutes PEÇONHENTO FC MG got a freekick which was hit by Thomás Meder. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Evert Tillman in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bertrand Hatun, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. PEÇONHENTO FC MG's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
