In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Harold Combettes scored 3-0 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Benito Sanz made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Diego Farges sent off a good shot on target. Karlheinz Ludecke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Axel Tasis in the 20th minute of play. 25 minutes into the game, Noisiel's Diego Farges nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benito Sanz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. Harold Combettes succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 6-0 in the 33rd playminute. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Harold Combettes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Harold Combettes in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benito Sanz saved Costa Rica from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 46 minutes, Harold Combettes put it in 9-0 from a short distance just to the right of Benito Sanz.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Axel Tasis was the one to do the kick off. Efrain Moruga made in the 52nd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Eliseo Noboa immediately put the ball in play. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diego Farges in the 53rd minute of the match. 54 minutes into the game, Noisiel's Harold Combettes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benito Sanz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 10-0. 57 minutes into the match, Harold Combettes notched a goal, 11-0, to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. Noisiel's Jules Berna was substituted for Harold Combettes. 64 minutes into the game, Noisiel's Yaser Jadue nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 13-0. In the 81st minute Yaser Jadue shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 83rd play minutes Yaser Jadue shot 14-0, a short shot which went by Benito Sanz and just under the crossbar into goal. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Yaser Jadue kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. When the match clock showed 90 minutes, the score became 16-0 when Yaser Jadue sped through Costa Rica's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Noisiel had played much better football throughout.
