The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iraido Bertiz having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bengt-Rune Widberg in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Iraido Bertiz made a huge save. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. After a rather tough play, Fohat Neyen's Gudesteo Albalate got a free kick in the 74th minute. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 76 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Iraido Bertiz. Iraido Bertiz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2.
