Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Paulino Lamberto got the match started through his kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Chile's zone, Paulino Lamberto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thiago Pliego came out of the goal and Paulino Lamberto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. San Martin de Tucuman's Cecilio Jax played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 6th minute of play. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulino Lamberto in the 15th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Paulino Lamberto in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Thiago Pliego saved Chile from getting behind. Carmelo Osoitz took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Thiago Pliego. Thiago Pliego dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Chile's Thiago Pliego proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Chile from getting a goal against them. After 24 played minutes San Martin de Tucuman got a freekick which was hit by Bartolo Harkaitz. Chile's Mariano Lacasa got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Paulino Lamberto got free with Thiago Pliego in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thiago Pliego stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Paulino Lamberto's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. Bartolo Harkaitz kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. 39 minutes into the match, Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Paulino Lamberto. In the 45thth minute of the game Mariano Lacasa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but San Martin de Tucuman's Cecilio Jax was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Mariano Lacasa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Mariano Lacasa took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cecilio Jax. Cecilio Jax dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Cecilio Jax made an important save on a dangerous shot by Orlando Casaus in the 62nd minute. San Martin de Tucuman's Cecilio Jax proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save San Martin de Tucuman from getting a goal against them. 74 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Luciano Selmo came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carmelo Osoitz in the 79th minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 87 minutes into the match, Mariano Lacasa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cecilio Jax. San Martin de Tucuman's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mariano Lacasa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. San Martin de Tucuman's Severino Elorri was substituted for Ubaldo Veto. In the 95th minute, Marcial Munio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Thiago Pliego was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
