The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ladislao Bermudo. Bernardo Moreira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 5th minute of the match. 6 minutes had been played when some careless play by Warren FC - DMZ's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. Bernardo Moreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 10 played minutes Warren FC - DMZ got a freekick which was hit by Sydney Guerra. Luca Zorita hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. In the 18th minute, Sydney Guerra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bernardo Moreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 19th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fellipe Machado in the 20th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Simão Santos received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Dante Lacasa came out and tried to block the shot, but Simão Santos slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 21st minute. In the 36th minute Simão Santos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joel Gaona was the one to do the kick off. Dante Lacasa came out of the goal in the 51st minute to try and stop a shot by Warren FC - DMZ's Giorgian Arrascaeta. But to his dismay, Giorgian Arrascaeta quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Simão Santos, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Simão Santos in the 58th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 61 minutes, Simão Santos put it in 3-1 from a short distance just to the right of Dante Lacasa. In the 66th minute, Sydney Guerra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Warren FC - DMZ's Hélio Nascimento was substituted for Bunda Cagara. After a rather tough play, Warren FC - DMZ's Sydney Guerra got a free kick in the 67th minute. Lorenzo Cazalla hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. After 70 played minutes, Warren FC - DMZ's Fellipe Machado shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Dante Lacasa came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Warren FC - DMZ reached it. After a rather tough play, Warren FC - DMZ's Sydney Guerra got a free kick in the 75th minute. In the 76th match minute, Warren FC - DMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sydney Guerra to maneuver through the defense. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Giorgian Arrascaeta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 87th play minutes Jerzy Drzewucki shot 4-1, a short shot which went by Dante Lacasa and just under the crossbar into goal. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eusébio Vieira during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 93 played minutes Warren FC - DMZ got a freekick which was hit by Eusébio Vieira. With a little luck, Warren FC - DMZ's Bernardo Moreira got control of the ball when Lautaro Mancebo tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Warren FC - DMZ support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
