An unexpectedly hard shot by Enrique Arósio in the 15th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Christiano de Queirós kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Guillermo Mariano hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. In the 25th minute, Lorenzo Santa María got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 26 minutes into the game, Jose Correa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Santiago Futebol Clube the free kick. After 26 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jose Correa. Lorenzo Santa María could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. A collision led to Santiago Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Christiano de Queirós hit a great ball. In the 31st match minute, Santiago Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lorenzo Santa María to maneuver through the defense. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lorenzo Santa María in the 33rd minute of play. Camilo Gaos kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Enrique Arósio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Santiago Futebol Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Enrique Arósio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Venezuela's Patricio Costa managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Teo Roano in the 47 minute of the game. Christiano de Queirós hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Patricio Costa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by Santiago Futebol Clube's Cauan Favoretto. But to his dismay, Cauan Favoretto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. In the 62ndth minute of the game Lorenzo Santa María who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Patricio Costa might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dan Cambridge. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Patricio Costa ran back to his position shaking his head. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cauan Favoretto in the 73rd minute of play. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Lorenzo Santa María kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. In the 83rd minute Santiago Futebol Clube were awarded a corner. Enrique Arósio went to the cornerflag to take it. Santiago Futebol Clube's Francisco Zanette was substituted for Nico Bueno. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cauan Favoretto in the 88th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 94th minute, Lorenzo Santa María got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 96 minutes, Rigoberto Mina mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Venezuela and the Santiago Futebol Clube players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 98 played minutes Santiago Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Christiano de Queirós. Santiago Futebol Clube's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
