Robert Andriescu showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Panama's Marcos Cotilla proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Panama from getting a goal against them. Octavian Hârtopanu's late challenge caught a Panama's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Berganza couldn't finish the play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Berganza stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Abraham Alguacils short, quick shot in the 51stth minute got Dumitru Oardă to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hugo De León during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. If Tomas Berganza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Marcos Cotilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manuel Balint, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 95th match minute, U 1974 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manuel Balint to maneuver through the defense. U 1974 were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Panama for a fine match.
