Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Grabiel Escorcia in the 3rd minute of play. 9 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Grabiel Escorcia came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Walter Geromel scored 1-0 in the 12th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dante Lacasa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 15 minutes into the match, Nacional's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Juaneizu Merida reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Grabiel Escorcia in the 20th minute of play. Juaneizu Merida was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jony Maidana kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. In the 42nd minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juaneizu Merida saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joel Gaona to strike the kick off in the second half. Juaneizu Merida showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 57th minute of the match. With an all-out effort, Mexico's Juaneizu Merida threw himself towards the right post 65 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Joel Gaona, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Joel Gaona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juaneizu Merida having to interfere. Nacional's Walme Yurre was substituted for Mendiko Bueres. 69 minutes into the match, Nacional's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Juaneizu Merida reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mexico were awarded a corner in the 70th minute after Nacional's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joel Gaona took the corner. The corner led Mexico's Luca Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Juaneizu Merida despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Grabiel Escorcia in the 75th minute of the match. Juaneizu Merida was out of position in the 77 minute of play, and Alberto Tafalla capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Alberto Tafalla really showed his touch with that goal: 2-4. Juaneizu Merida made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Alberto Tafalla sent off a good shot on target. In the 84th minute, Alberto Tafalla made a precise shot to the right of Juaneizu Merida. Nacional's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-5. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Grabiel Escorcia, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. When Luca Zorita fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mexico's protests and gave Luca Zorita a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Luca Zorita got a free kick in the 94th minute. Mexico played a much better game than Nacional and deserved their victory. The Nacional players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
