Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 7th minute, Radovan Šálek hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lautaro Puig hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Costa Rica's Lautaro Puig got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patrik Jirout in the 12th minute of play. Abel Carballo kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. In the 17th match minute, Pardubice Hurricanes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Josef Jeřábek to maneuver through the defense. René Švéda stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Axel Tasis's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jiří Dusil in the 25th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 28 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Jiří Dusil came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patrik Jirout in the 34th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Axel Tasis got free with René Švéda in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Costa Rica's zone, Michal Božek stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benito Sanz came out of the goal and Michal Božek tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Patrik Jirout made a kick off. Michal Božek could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Benito Sanz made a huge save. In the 53rd minute, Lautaro Puig left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Costa Rica fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Lautaro Puig might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over René Švéda. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lautaro Puig ran back to his position shaking his head. Axel Tasis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 65 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Jiří Dusil came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 67 minutes into the game, Costa Rica's Axel Tasis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. René Švéda made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-3. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Aaron Alcocer hit a great ball. Michal Božek could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Benito Sanz made a huge save. Juan Rubio charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Juan Rubio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 82 minutes in the game Harald Bartoň got a great opportunity which he missed by shooting outside the goal. René Švéda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Axel Tasis, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Lautaro Puig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Pardubice Hurricanes players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Costa Rica from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
