A collision led to U 1974 getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Manuel Balint hit a great ball. The supporters of U 1974 booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miguel Miralles didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 13 minutes, Robert Andriescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U 1974's supporters crossed their fingers, but Robert Andriescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eneto Vidal in the 14th minute of play. After 16 minutes of play, U 1974's Eneto Vidal made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marcos Cotilla was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 19 played minutes Panama got a freekick which was hit by Tomas Berganza. Abraham Alguacil fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Estefan Vizcarreto having to interfere. Robert Andriescu took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcos Cotilla. Marcos Cotilla dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After a rather tough play, U 1974's Manuel Balint got a free kick in the 40th minute. After recieving a nice pass, Panama's Abraham Alguacil tried to score from far away in the 40th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Panama defense, Robert Andriescu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcos Cotilla. The Panama fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcos Cotilla should have stopped the shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Berganza stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tomas Berganza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Estefan Vizcarreto having to interfere. After 58 played minutes U 1974 got a freekick which was hit by Mihnea Păvăloae. U 1974's Estefan Vizcarreto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Berganza in the 61st minute of play. After a rather tough play, U 1974's Mihnea Păvăloae got a free kick in the 61st minute. In the 66th minute, Tomas Berganza got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tomas Berganza in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Estefan Vizcarreto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Octavian Hârtopanu in the 74th minute of play. Tomas Berganza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the match had gone on for 83 minutes, Tomas Berganza put it in 2-3 from a short distance just to the right of Estefan Vizcarreto. Estefan Vizcarreto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Berganza in the 88th minute of the match. The supporters of U 1974 booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Cambeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Octavian Hârtopanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 95 minutes, Tomas Berganza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Panama's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Berganza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The U 1974 players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
