Mariano Lacasa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Dedé Correia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Dedé Correia came free with the goalkeeper in the 7th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Thiago Pliego could save by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 9th minute of play forced Garopaba F.C's goalkeeper Orlando da Cunha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mariano Lacasa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Orlando da Cunha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Chile's Orlando Casaus got a free kick in the 15th minute. When Garopaba F.C's Dedé Correia, in the 17th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Garopaba F.C. Felix Garrido hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Chile's Thiago Pliego got control of the ball when Dedé Correia tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 23rd match minute, Garopaba F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dedé Correia to maneuver through the defense. Dedé Correias short, quick shot in the 27thth minute got Thiago Pliego to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Dedé Correia's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 28thth minute, Thiago Pliego skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 33 minutes into the match, Garopaba F.C's Dedé Correia sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Thiago Pliego narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 33 played minutes Chile got a freekick which was hit by Xavier Figueroa. A collision led to Garopaba F.C getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Tomás Gajardo hit a great ball. In the 37th minute Mariano Lacasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Orlando da Cunha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Chile's Thiago Pliego got control of the ball when Dedé Correia tried to sneak it across the goal line. Garopaba F.C's Wambasther Özil was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Thiago Pliego in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Orlando da Cunha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Orlando Casaus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dedé Correia made a kick off. In the 53rd minute, Xavier Figueroa fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Felix Garrido got a throw-in 55 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Guillermo Fontirroig. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dedé Correia in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Thiago Pliego saved Chile from getting behind. Garopaba F.C's Tomás Gajardo quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Felix Garrido, made in the 70th minute of the game. 72 minutes into the match, Garopaba F.C's Rogelio Urtungo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Thiago Pliego narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 73 minutes, Mariano Lacasa took a quick shot and it went in 0-1 without a chance for Orlando da Cunha to make any attempt to save it. The supporters of Chile booed when Garopaba F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomás Gajardo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Orlando da Cunha made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Mariano Lacasa sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice moves Mariano Lacasa could shoot a difficult shot in the 80th minute, which Orlando da Cunha however easily saved by the left post. In the 84th minute Garopaba F.C were awarded a corner. Wambasther Özil went to the cornerflag to take it. Garopaba F.C's Wambasther Özil was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Thiago Pliego in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Rogelio Urtungo took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Thiago Pliego. Thiago Pliego dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. 94 minutes into the game, Garopaba F.C's Rogelio Urtungo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Thiago Pliego made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Chile players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
