The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of 2017★ WWF Comarruga ★S62 booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Efrain Moruga didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 24th minute Pablo Izaguirre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Melkor Delgado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Axel Tasis in the 26th minute of play. Lautaro Puig recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Pablo Izaguirre kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. Pablo Izaguirre struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Benito Sanz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for 2017★ WWF Comarruga ★S62. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The wind increased when Axel Tasis made the kick off in the second half. Eliseo Noboa kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pablo Izaguirre in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benito Sanz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Pablo Izaguirre received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pablo Izaguirre, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pablo Izaguirre in the 68th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pablo Izaguirre, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. If Pablo Izaguirre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pablo Izaguirre might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benito Sanz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pablo Izaguirre ran back to his position shaking his head. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pablo Izaguirre in the 74th minute of play. Cristo Rienda blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benito Sanz having to make a save. A collision led to 2017★ WWF Comarruga ★S62 getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Bitxintxo Incera hit a great ball. If Iban Ortiz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 2017★ WWF Comarruga ★S62's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
