Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Ecuador's Daniel Zorita started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. C.A Huracan's Gregorio Velasco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 3rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 4th minute of play forced C.A Huracan's goalkeeper Gregorio Velasco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 5 minutes into the game, Mateo Lorenz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. C.A Huracan's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. In the 7th minute, Cristian Sancho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 10th minute, Cristian Sancho made a precise shot to the right of Gregorio Velasco. C.A Huracan's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Cristian Sancho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gregorio Velasco having to make a save. Gregorio Velasco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Wilfredo Ekaitz received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Julio Vera came out and tried to block the shot, but Wilfredo Ekaitz slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 20th minute. A hard shot 24 in the game by Wilfredo Ekaitz from a close distance when the talented Julio Vera managed to make a qualified save. Ecuador's players were relieved. After a rather tough play, C.A Huracan's Delmiro Francis got a free kick in the 25th minute. 27 minutes into the match, C.A Huracan's goal looked a bit too open when Agustín Saelices came free, but Gregorio Velasco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Agustín Saelices took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gregorio Velasco. Gregorio Velasco dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 31st minute of play forced C.A Huracan's goalkeeper Gregorio Velasco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Haroldo Jago fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. After a rather tough play, C.A Huracan's Delmiro Francis got a free kick in the 34th minute. After 36 minutes of play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gregorio Velasco was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the match had gone on for 41 minutes, Feliciano Sanchez put it in 2-4 from a short distance just to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans' excitement grew in the 44th match minute when Ecuador's Daniel Zorita looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-5 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Haroldo Jago sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 2-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Gregorio Velasco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 54th minute of play. After 55 minutes, Agustín Saelices mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ecuador and the C.A Huracan players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of C.A Huracan booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agustín Saelices didn't get a good kick on the ball. 58 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gregorio Velasco made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-6. Cristian Sancho scored 2-8 in the 66th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gregorio Velasco, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 73 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Gregorio Velasco. Cristian Sancho showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-10. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Gregorio Velasco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. The crowd rose to their feet as Ecuador's Agustín Saelices slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gregorio Velasco. That made the score 2-11 after 78 minutes of play. Gregorio Velasco made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Felix Montenegro sent off a good shot on target. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gregorio Velasco having to interfere. Luis Andino was extremely unlucky when he, in the 87th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Gregorio Velasco made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 93rd minute. 95 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gregorio Velasco made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-12.
