In the 19th minute, Venancio Brion ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Emanuel Gartzen sent off a good shot on target. If Venancio Brion had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

52 minutes into the match, Devoto club social's goalkeeper Victoriano Horado had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomas Illescas. In the 83rd minute, Venancio Brion left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Devoto club social fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1.
