The referee felt a red card was in order, 4 minutes into the game, when Rigoberto Mina put in a rough tackle. In the 6th minute there was a penalty for Fc Otelul Galati. Hector Garin stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Jonathan Ferrant. 1-0. After 12 played minutes Fc Otelul Galati got a freekick which was hit by Ion Ailincai. Jose Correa kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alex Chicote during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Alex Chicote hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. 27 minutes into the game, Florian Penc cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 29th minute, Joshua Secada got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 32nd minute of the game Ion Ailincai made a throw-in which Alin Teodorescu played forward. After 43 played minutes, Fc Otelul Galati's Ion Ailincai shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Fc Otelul Galati reached it. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Patricio Costa to make the kick off. Fc Otelul Galati's Lars Schuster got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 57th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Gaos to maneuver through the defense. 60 minutes into the match, Lars Schuster had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lars Schuster was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. If Hector Garin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 70th minute, Ion Ailincai hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nicodim Iacobeanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patricio Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alin Teodorescu in the 74th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alin Teodorescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Nicodim Iacobeanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patricio Costa in the 76th minute of the match. Fc Otelul Galati's Nicodim Iacobeanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joshua Secada in the 83rd minute of play. Damon Haslem got a throw-in 84 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Basarab Chelbea. Ion Ailincai kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Venezuela's Jose Correa quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Basarab Chelbea, made in the 90th minute of the game. A throw-in in the 92nd minute of the game was made by Ion Ailincai with Basarab Chelbea as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Florian Penc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Venezuela players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Fc Otelul Galati.
