The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomas Illescas to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Fc Otelul Galati was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lars Schuster didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 56th minute, Tomas Illescas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Venezuela fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. The Venezuela fans cheered their team off the field, for while Fc Otelul Galati had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
