Glauco Saraiva hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. 10 minutes into the match, Manchester United FC's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Bruno Martini reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manfred Rudqvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Manfred Rudqvist's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. In the 16th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruno Martini saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 17th minute, Daniel Zorita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bruno Martini was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bruno Martini made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 23rd minute of play. 27 minutes into the match, Manfred Rudqvist notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Bruno Martini showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. In the 33rd minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Manchester United FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rui Andrade didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 41st minute of the match, Manfred Rudqvist tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Julio Vera saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 42 minutes into the match, Manchester United FC's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Bruno Martini reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. A very good chance. 53 minutes into the match, Manchester United FC's goalkeeper Bruno Martini had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Simão de Toledo in the 77th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Manchester United FC's Simão de Toledo got a free kick in the 78th minute. Manchester United FC's Bruno Martini proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Manchester United FC from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Manchester United FC getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Glauco Saraiva hit a great ball. 85 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Bruno Martini. Daniel Zorita showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Manchester United FC's Bruno Martini proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Manchester United FC from getting a goal against them. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Bruno Martini tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Manchester United FC's Joachim De Jonghe got a free kick in the 91st minute. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Manchester United FC.
