Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) After 9 minutes of play, Menchu FC's Gabriele Batistuta made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! Uriel Gorri kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gabriele Batistuta in the 22nd minute of the match. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Camilo Salvidor came out and tried to block the shot, but Daniel Zorita slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 26th minute. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Menchu FC's goalkeeper Camilo Salvidor, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gabriele Batistuta blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gabriele Batistuta in the 34th minute of play. 40 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Gabriele Batistuta came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Roberto Carlo kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Camilo Salvidor read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gabriele Batistuta made a kick off. After 52 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Lucas Martínez Quarta who took care of the corner kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cristian Sancho during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Cristian Sancho hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, Menchu FC's Lucas Martínez Quarta tried to score from far away in the 54th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. When Ecuador's Daniel Zorita in the 57th minute got a chance for a shot 57th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Menchu FC's goalie prevented a goal. Camilo Salvidor didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Zorita went, in the 60th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Menchu FC's Arturo Roderigo was substituted for Peter Söderqwist. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Felix Montes hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Uriel Gorri managed to get in a good position for a shot. Menchu FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Uriel Gorri was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Zorita in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Camilo Salvidor saved Menchu FC from getting behind. Camilo Salvidor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 75th minute of play. Camilo Salvidor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juan Sebastián Puig, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arturo Roderigo hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Gaston Firmo's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 91stth minute, Julio Vera skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 94 minutes into the game, Menchu FC's Abdoulay Doucouré nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-3. Menchu FC made a substitution. Silverio Sergi replaced Armando Roland. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Ecuador lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
