Thanks to some nice moves Francisco Seco could shoot a difficult shot in the 24th minute, which Nicodim Iacobeanu however easily saved by the left post. In the 26th match minute, Fc Otelul Galati was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Florian Penc to maneuver through the defense. Joaquin Gayoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alin Teodorescu in the 28th minute of the match. After 30 played minutes Fc Otelul Galati got a freekick which was hit by Alin Teodorescu. The long shot by Bruno Beldad in the 31st minute really tested Nicodim Iacobeanu's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Francisco Seco's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 33rdth minute, Nicodim Iacobeanu skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Francisco Seco did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-1 to the left of a surprised Nicodim Iacobeanu 33 minutes into the match. Fc Otelul Galati were furious when Damon Haslem was red carded, 36 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 36 minutes into the game, one of Fc Otelul Galati:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 39 minutes, Uruguay's Jaime Cazalla got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Nicodim Iacobeanu. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Basarab Chelbea in the 46th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Fc Otelul Galati's Emanuel Arsenescu got a free kick in the 47th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Francisco Seco to strike the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes Fc Otelul Galati got a freekick which was hit by Alin Teodorescu. Nicodim Iacobeanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francisco Seco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ion Ailincai during the 54th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Kevin Carballal hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save Uruguay from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Francisco Seco in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nicodim Iacobeanu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 83 minutes into the match, Fc Otelul Galati's goal looked a bit too open when Francisco Seco came free, but Nicodim Iacobeanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
