Austra 04 VFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Hudson Gaúcho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 34th minute of the match. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wellington Pires in the 35th minute of play. In the 37th minute of the match, Wellington Pires tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Julio Vera saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hudson Gaúcho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. Sócrates Silva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 47th minute, Ahmet Erdem Zekai hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wellington Pires to strike the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Austra 04 VFC's Hudson Gaúcho got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ahmet Erdem Zekai in the 63rd minute of play. Camilo Gisbert hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ahmet Erdem Zekai in the 71st minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 74th minute Beila Mora shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Marcus Pollard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hudson Gaúcho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 95th minute of play. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
