After a defensive mix-up in El Salvador's zone, Emilian Blăniță stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ricardo Zorita came out of the goal and Emilian Blăniță tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emilian Blăniță in the 23rd minute of play forced El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Tineretul Arad's zone, Moises Fernandino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Daniel Anton came out of the goal and Moises Fernandino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Moises Fernandino in the 29thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Daniel Anton, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 31 minutes into the match, Tineretul Arad's goalkeeper Daniel Anton had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Moises Fernandino. Ricardo Zorita showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Negrescu in the 33rd minute of the match. Joshua Curbelo hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Moises Fernandino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Daniel Anton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Felix Negrescu made a kick off. After a rather tough play, El Salvador's Valentino Ferrant got a free kick in the 52nd minute. In the 55th minute Moises Fernandino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniel Anton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Daniel Anton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Moises Fernandino in the 58th minute of play. Cazimir Maior kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. 61 minutes into the game, Abram Luque was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. El Salvador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tineretul Arad the free kick. A collision led to El Salvador getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Abram Luque hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, El Salvador's Abram Luque got a free kick in the 70th minute. Daniel Anton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Moises Fernandino in the 73rd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Mateo Leguizamo managed to get in a good position for a shot. El Salvador's supporters rose to their feet, but Mateo Leguizamo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Daniel Anton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Felix Negrescu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Ricardo Zorita made a huge save. In the 78th minute, Moises Fernandino ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Daniel Anton was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Moises Fernandino in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Daniel Anton saved Tineretul Arad from getting behind. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Tineretul Arad's goalkeeper Daniel Anton, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Tineretul Arad's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
